I’m Karen, a Midwestern girl transplanted in the South, raised on ’80s music and way too many readings of “Forever” by Judy Blume. I spent my twenties working my way from intern to executive in the music industry. Somewhere in there, I married my real life Jake Ryan, had two amazing kids, and started getting up before dawn to write romance. With sparks.
I’m thrilled (and more than a little relieved) to announce that the Never Too Late series is now complete with the release of It’s a Widow Thing! My writing life has been a bit of a blur since the release of the first book, Gray Hair Don’t Care, but in the best way possible. The reception for the entire series has been so wonderful and gratifying. I get emails all the time from readers telling me they loved it! It makes me happy to know that I’m not the only one who wants to read romance about characters who are in their 40s or beyond!
I’ll be honest–It’s a Widow Thing was not an easy book to write. I didn’t really figure out why until I was about halfway through the first draft and realized that I’d given myself a tightrope to walk by writing a light and fun book about a woman who’d been through a terrible loss. But I think I managed to write a story with lots of sexy banter, smart dialogue, and some very fun elements like a big city widows group who play a very important role. I really hope you decide to take a chance on It’s a Widow Thing! Feel free to send me an email if you do! You can reach me any time at karen[at]karen booth[dot]net. You can find It’s a Widow Thing on Amazon, and it’s available to read in Kindle Unlimited. There WILL be an audio release for this book. If you sign up for my newsletter, I’ll be sure to let you know about it when it comes out!
