iPod Confessional

I read an article about a woman who was shocked when she looked at her husband’s  iPod while he was in the shower.  Sounds innocent enough, but she found something, or someone, that disturbed her, deeply–Debbie Boone.  It took her weeks to get over it; her husband’s manly mojo was erased by “You Light Up My Life”.  Personally, I would’ve laughed my ass off if I found Debbie Boone on Steve’s iPod, so, I was wondering–what’s the most embarrassing song on your iPod?

  1. It’s not really fair if I don’t get the ball rolling on this one. I had to pick an embarrassing song that I actually listen to–Duran Duran’s version of “White Lines”. What can I say? It’s a great song for the elliptical and I love me some DD.

  2. That be Yes, Starship Trooper
Actually, that’s my #2. I don’t think I can go any further than that 😉

  3. I cannot answer this b/c I am not ashamed by anything in my iTunes folder…no, not even Live (which I don’t even listen to anyway…I really don’t!). LOL about White Lines…embrace it!

  4. Um, I have every song from Glee? Yes, put an ‘L’ on my forehead!

I also have Dusty Springfield (Memphis, got to listen to it)

The Monkees (Did you know the show was only 12 episodes long?)

    Lena Horn

    Judy Garland

    Rosemary Clooney

Mamma Cass (Dream a Little Dream)

    Journey

Miranda Lambert (I cried when I heard, ‘The House That Built Me’)

    Johnny Cash

    Emmylou Harris

Matt Nathanson! (Give us a new record, Dude!)

    Wicked

Okay, maybe I went too far…

  5. Ron V- I can’t believe you just said you’re embarrassed about Starship Trooper (or any Yes at all for that matter). AWESOME.

  6. Eleven of Elton John’s “Greatest Hits.” I must have been drunk and getting all sentimental over “Candle in the Wind” when I bought that one. And since I bought it from iTunes, I must have been exceptionally drunk, since I bought eleven, and not just the one. And they’re not in any of my playlists, so I never actually listen to them.

Didn’t some e-mail application (Gmail?) have a function where, if you try to send an e-mail in the wee hours, it gives you a little test to see if you’re drunk/stoned and really want to send that mail? iTunes should have something like that. The “Are you sure you want to buy this?” pop-up is not enough.

But “You Light Up My Life” beats Elton John any day. I would say it’s reasonable grounds for divorce.
